What's new at Mission Pet
We are now offering a slightly different spay surgery called an ovariectomy (OVE), in which the ovaries are removed, and the uterus remains in the abdomen. This technique is less invasive, has a smaller incision and a lower rate of complications, yet maintains all of the benefits of the traditional surgery. In the more traditional surgery, an ovariohysterectomy (OVH), both the ovaries and the uterus are removed. Because the OVE is no more difficult to perform, and has clear benefits, Mission Pet will now be performing this progressive technique instead of the more traditional technique. However, if you would like your pet to have the traditional spay, we can still perform it. Our doctors are also happy to discuss any questions or concerns you may have regarding spays or neuters.
